The heart of War of Sands lies in its blend of competitive PvP and cooperative PvE gameplay. Players can engage in direct combat with others or take on AI challenges for rewards and progress.

- City Raids: Attack enemy camps to loot resources, destroy defenses, and reduce their power score.
- Rallied Assaults: Multi-member attacks organized through guilds for higher success rates against strong enemies.
- Duels: Quick skirmishes between two players with equalized power (no loot, just ranking impact).
- Tile Battles: Skirmishes over world map control points (e.g. oasis zones or relic sites).
- Scouting Before Attack: Players can scout to check unit compositions, traps, and strength before committing.
π‘οΈ PvP Protection
- Shield Items: Temporary protection (8h, 24h, 72h) preventing all incoming attacks.
- Beginner Shield: Auto-enabled until player reaches level X or performs an aggressive action.
- Peace Zones: Specific event tiles where PvP is disabled.
π§ PvP Combat Logic
- Server-resolved battle logic (tick-based simulation).
- Calculated using: formation, morale, terrain, weather, and commander buffs.
- Battle Report includes losses, kills, XP earned, and a replay link (optional).

- Bandit Camps: Scattered AI threats of increasing levels. Drop silver, resources, and troop XP.
- Sand Beast Hunts: Massive boss monsters requiring multiple players to defeat.
- Nomadic Waves: Periodic map-wide invasion events.
- Ancient Tombs: PvE βdungeonsβ with floors, traps, bosses, and timed rewards.
- Wagon Defense: Escort a VIP caravan across the map while repelling waves of attackers.
